Thanksgiving
Today has been a very different experience from the former years of celebration.
Today I was challenged by different circumstances, in which I felt either sad, distressed about seemingly unanswered prayers, or angry at people's strange or slow response to suffering.
All of which could steal my ability to be grateful and to give thanks. However, every time God reminded me to give thanks regardless of how things looked to me.
Why? Because the God we serve is good, and even when we witness terrible suffering, the unseen actions of God, if we could see, would cause us to give thanks and to praise Him.
Psalm 50:15 NKJV reminds us that when we call on God in times of trouble, He always answers, and that our response should be gratitude, praise, and to give Him the glory. But why wait to respond in that way until we can see or experience help or deliverance?
Give thanks to Him now and receive the benefit of peace in the midst of your storm. See John 14:27 NKJV and Philippians 4:6,7 NKJV.
Happy Thanksgiving!
